I turned professional in 2008 and began my training at the PGA National Training Academy and Birmingham University in 2009, qualifying in 2012. Prior to my PGA training I completed a full 22 year military career in the Royal Signals. I was Assistant Professional at Kingsdown GC, Wiltshire under the watchful eye of Mr Andrew Butler, the Head Professional. Shortly after qualifying I moved to the Algarve and I currently hold the position of Teaching Professional at the Golf Santo Antonio Golf Academy, near Budens.
I’m very passionate about coaching and my philosophy is simple: by using my knowledge of the Ball Flight Laws and the Principles of golf I will endeavour to make the minimum number of changes required to ensure you achieve your golfing goals.
We have spent our holiday at this place and it was really nice there. The pool is gorgeous, but it think the best part was our golf lesson with Ian Stallard. We are all beginners and he was really patient with us, explaining everything several times. It was a lot of fun, he is a very good trainer and thus we managed pretty well at the end, i think. He just started his business there but i guess the resort should be quite lucky to have him. Thumbs up!!

The Academy has 14 driving bays with 4 of those under cover, it has a wide hitting area with numerous target range markers and two practice greens, one at approx 120m and one at 165m.
When it comes to golf coaching there isn't a ''one size fits all'' coaching method. We all have different characteristics including height, age and flexibility to name a few, these differences affect how we swing the club. Tour players are no different, compare the swings of Jim Furyk and Rory McIlroy for example, vastly different yet they are both prolific winners.
The ES14 is a sophisticated, information packed portable launch monitor developed for golf professionals, instructors and serious golfers who want to take their game to the next level. The monitor displays club speed, ball speed, smash factor, spin rate, launch angle and carry or total distance measured in either yards or meters on every shot. The display shows 3 of the factors and automatically scrolls over to show the other 3, it switches between screens until the next shot is hit.
